Visit to Kalmakyr Mine
Visit to Almalyk Branch of Tashkent State Technical University
On Monday, August 4th, the Graduate School of International Resource Sciences at Akita University held Central Asia International Forum in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
At the forum which was held in the auditorium of the Uzbek-Japan Innovation Center of Youth (UJICY), specialists from various fields across Central Asia, a region known for its rich underground resources, were invited. Research presentations on resources, energy, and the environment, as well as presentations introducing universities were conducted. It became a fulfilling forum that will contribute to the promotion of future joint research.
Also on Tuesday, August 5th, participants visited Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC), where they toured Kalmakyr Mine (the largest copper and metal mine in Uzbekistan) and also visited Almalyk Branch of Tashkent State Technical University.
